Farewell to JR, our favorite booty shorts tumpeter with Legwarmers

Looking all 80's - riffic just before the concert
started.   You cannot really see if, but I was
wearing Ked's and arm-warmers.  Awesome!

I had not been to a Legwarmer's concert since August of last year.  Much has change with my favorite 80's cover band in the Washington, DC area.  Cindy Sindee had a healthy baby.  And now JR has left the group!  Upon learning of his farewell tour, a few of us gathered and went to the concert to say farewell to our favorite cut off booty-licious jeans wearing, amazing trumpet player, JR.

A group of about 4 of us gathered at my home and we got ready for the event.  The lovely Kari, Courtney, and Kara joined in the festivities.  Lots of hairspray, glitter, and children's brightly colored make up was everywhere.  Promptly at 8:00 when the doors opened, the 4 of us were gathered and at the front of the theater with the other people we normally see at these concerts and waited for the 9:30'ish start.  This 1.5 hours left lots of time to gossip, take pictures, and be silly Mormon style.

There were a small group of men that was sort of eyeing us, but we did not give them the time of day as they were drunk before the concert started.  There were 2 young girls near us they quickly turned their drunken attention to and lets say - by the end of the night - it was clear who was going home with who.

Brad and his harem of girls.
Kara, Courtney, myself, Julie, Brad, and Kari.
We just LOVE Mr. Brad Meehan.  He make the evening too much fun.  In fact the band recognizes him and knows his name.  Brad is famous for this silly antics and how much he gets into the songs and the event.

All in all, the event is epic.  The music is great.  The vocals astounding.  And the hearing is lost.

Farewell JR!

Cannot wait for the next time a group gets together.  These concerts can be too addictive as they play both Friday and Saturday once a month at the State Theater in Falls Church.  The rest of the time they tour the Mid Atlantic from Philly down to Norfolk.

Good luck JR with your next adventure.  You will be missed.
